Akhilanda Mandalam - Pandalam K.P.Raman Pillai [

  2. Me too was searching the net for the complete lyrics of the poem. This attempt to popularize the malayalam poetry, as well as to save her from getting extincted, is appreciable.

    1. It was the prayer song in the schools across Kerala till early 80s. Later it was replaced by many "sectarian" songs. Wish if it is back!

    1. Very true sir. I remember when my school replaced this song with Lead Kindly Light.....
Those days, our young minds were eager to adapt to an english prayer in an english medium school....The underlying religious agenda was unknown to us.... Yes sir this is i deed a valuable and most acceptable secular prayer song for our children.

  15. I am proud that Pandalam KP was the Head Master of my school (SNDP High School, Chenneerkara, Pathanamthitta) and he was a close friend of my father who was a teacher in the same school. My father many times explained this poem to me, with great pride and happiness.

    1. Proud of the the poet Mr Raman Pillai and your father who narrated the meaning of the poem to you. I to sang this prayer during my school studies. Now I have send a proposal to our PM to project this prayer as the prayer of the nation/ world/UNO. No prayer can be parallel to this by all means . Let us hope the best in this regard

  22. Dear, you have done an excellent work. Appreciated, indeed this'll give nostalgic memories to many of the older generations. Thank you very much. If you can do modifications please do 2 corrections.
    1. At end of 6th line from the bottom change to "neengi" instead of "neekhi".
    2. At end of 2nd line from the bottom change to "nedi" instead of "thedi".
    Thanking you.

  23. I am doubtful about the end of the first stance i.e. end of the 4th line from top might be "Nee Nithiyam" instead of "Neeyennum". At end of the second stance is correct "Neeyennum". Please you may confirm before making the change. Thank you and namaskar 🙏🏻

  27. This is one of the songs we used to sing together at our home during dusk prayers. All members irrespective of age sit on the floor before a lighted lamp. The meaning of the lines now makes more sense. While travelling i jotted the lines to search in NET. Thanks too much. I copied the lines in mobile CAM to make use.
